We went to Oban during our golf vacation in Scotland in 2008. We stayed at the Wellpark House along Corran Esplanade where Oban Bay Hotel was also located.

We did not stay at the Oban Bay Hotel but we had dinner at the Rannachan restaurant of Oban Bay Hotel because it was just walking distance from the guest house.

It was raining a little bit and Rannachan restaurant was more convenient than the other restaurants located in the city.

Oban Bay Hotel was such a busy hotel and there were just too many people inside the restaurant.

We ordered salmon for starters and lamb for the main course. With that, we ordered an Australian red wine, a ReD EARTH 2005 Shiraz which was produced in Adelaide Plains, Australia. After which, I ordered trio of ice cream for dessert.

The red wine and the food were really good. We actually did not expect that the food would be that good.

Every time we went to a place, we read brochures and flyers regarding hotels and restaurants in the area but we have not read anything about the Rannachan restaurant.

Well, the food was compensating for the rainy weather. We really had a lovely dinner at the restaurant.
