We went to Aling Tonya’s Seafood Palutuan for dinner in May 2010. Aling Tonya’s Seafood Palutuan was one of the places for eating that we went to for the duration of my stay in Manila before I left Philippines.

Aling Tonya’s Seafood Palutuan was located in Seaside Market along Daang Hari Road in Alabang. Seaside Market in Alabang was just newly opened then.

Instead of buying the fresh meat and seafoods ourselves, we requested someone at Aling Tonya’s Seafood Palutuan to buy the meat, seafoods and other ingredients at the market for us. Aling Tonya’s then cooked the food for us.

Aling Tonya’s did a good job. All the food tasted good. We just paid for the services that Aling Tonya’s rendered to us. The price was quite reasonable.

I have eaten several times at the Skyline in Vivere Suites. I ate at the Skyline every time I went to the Philippines. I was always quite satisfied with the service at the Skyline so I kept on going back there. I went there again with some friends in May 2010.

Skyline is actually being called Skylounge now. I even asked why I have been getting emails from Vivere Suites mentioning the restaurant as Skylounge instead of Skyline.

I am not sure if the reply that I got was exactly correct. Someone told me that they actually would like to distinguish the bar and the restaurant because some of the hotel guests would like to go to the bar only.

But I think, I have to ask Vivere Suites again about it just to be sure.

My friends and I went to Fish Out of Water restaurant for dinner in May 2010. Fish Out of Water was located in Greenbelt 5 at the Ayala Center in Makati City.

We ordered some fresh buko juice and fresh mango juice for drinks. We ordered soup and something for starters, then fish and vegetables for the main course. I just could not remember the exact names of what we ordered.

The food at Fish Out of Water was good. The fish was just a little bit costly though. The restaurant was clean and the staff were also friendly.

We went for dinner at Italianni’s in Alabang Town Center in Alabang, Muntinlupa City in May 2010.

I have not been to Italianni’s restaurant for quite a long time already. I just did not go there every time I went to the Philippines because pasta was not really my favorite. I eat pasta but normally at home.

It was warm outside so I requested my friends that we stay inside the restaurant just to realize that it was quite so cold inside.

We had soup, salad, lasagna, and panna cotta for dessert. I liked the lasagna and panna cotta at Italianni’s.

The panna cotta was really good. I did not expect that it could be that good. The soup and salad were fine too.

After the dessert, we decided to stay outside and had some red wine.

We went to to Fish and Co. for dinner in May 2010. I have already eaten at Fish and Co. at the SM Mall of Asia before. I found the food fine and so we tried the branch which was located in Corte de las Palmas in Alabang Town Center in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Fish and Co. in Alabang Town Center was a very busy place. We almost did not get a table but with a little bit of patience, we eventually got one after a few minutes. We just waited a little bit as I did not like to go to any other restaurants anymore.

In my experience, people were friendly. The place was clean. It was just probably a little bit crowded for my eyes. The price was reasonable, in my opinion, but maybe a little bit too much for others.

The food was definitely enough that my nieces were not even able to finish the fish that they ordered. I was able to finish my order as the fish that I had was not really that big compared to the ones that my nieces ordered.

Sonya’s Garden Restaurant, Alfonso, Cavite, Philippines

My friends and I went to Sonya’s Garden Restaurant for lunch in April 2010. Sonya’s Garden was located in Barangay Buck Estate in Alfonso, Cavite, Philippines.

I had the impression that Sonya’s Garden was located in Tagaytay, but no, Sonya’s Garden was actually located in the area of Cavite but very near Tagaytay City.

Sonya’s Garden served different dishes. It also served Filipino food set menu but we ordered a different set menu. We ordered salad of greens, freshly handpicked from its own garden, and pasta for lunch inclusive of bread, fish, desserts, and tarragon tea, also from its own garden.

The set menu for lunch at Sonya’s Garden was eat all you can. Sonya’s Garden will serve you salad of greens as long as you want.

After lunch, we went to look at Sonya’s Cottage Inn Bed and Breakfast. As it was summer time in the Philippines, it was sunny and warm during that time but when we went inside the cottages, it was so cool inside.

Dining Room Elm House Hotel Hawick

Elm House Hotel

Hawick, Scottish Borders

United Kingdom

We already passed by Hawick going to Edinburgh City but we went back to Hawick after our trip in Oban.

We stayed at the Elm House Hotel along North Bridge Street which was right at the center of Hawick.

After a short rest from a long trip from Oban, we went to the dining room of the hotel for dinner.

We did not go anywhere anymore for dinner as the dining room of the hotel was open for the hotel guests.

We had skewered shrimps with salad for starters and stir-fried duck breast for the main course. After which, I ordered muffin cake with ice cream for dessert.

The food were really good especially the skewered shrimps and the muffin cake with ice cream. The dessert was simply mouth-watering.

I was not sure though if the dining room was also open to other people who were not hotel guests. But the hotel bar was somewhat popular among the local residents.

Well, for one thing, the hotel owners were very friendly. They were the ones who especially accommodated us.

Rannachan Restaurant Oban Bay Hotel Corran Esplanade Oban

United Kingdom

We went to Oban during our golf vacation in Scotland in 2008. We stayed at the Wellpark House along Corran Esplanade where Oban Bay Hotel was also located.

We did not stay at the Oban Bay Hotel but we had dinner at the Rannachan restaurant of Oban Bay Hotel because it was just walking distance from the guest house.

It was raining a little bit and Rannachan restaurant was more convenient than the other restaurants located in the city.

Oban Bay Hotel was such a busy hotel and there were just too many people inside the restaurant.

We ordered salmon for starters and lamb for the main course. With that, we ordered an Australian red wine, a ReD EARTH 2005 Shiraz which was produced in Adelaide Plains, Australia. After which, I ordered trio of ice cream for dessert.

The red wine and the food were really good. We actually did not expect that the food would be that good.

Every time we went to a place, we read brochures and flyers regarding hotels and restaurants in the area but we have not read anything about the Rannachan restaurant.

Well, the food was compensating for the rainy weather. We really had a lovely dinner at the restaurant.

We stayed at the Waterside Hotel in Inverness when we had our golf vacation in Scotland in 2008. The hotel has its own restaurant too.

So, we did not go anywhere anymore. We decided to have our dinner at the Conservatory restaurant of The Waterside Hotel Inverness.

We had the impression that the Conservatory restaurant was a popular one even among the local residents.

We ordered salmon for starters and lamb shank for the main course. With that, we ordered an Australian red wine, a Katherine Hills Shiraz Cabernet from South Australia.

The food was really fine. The salmon was great. The lamb shank was so tender and mouth watering.

Another thing, we enjoyed the nice view of the River Ness from the restaurant compensating for not having the view of the river from our hotel room.

We definitely had a lovely dinner.

Maisha Authentic Indian and Seafood Restaurant St. Andrews

Maisha Restauarant
Authentic Indian and Seafood Restaurant
5 College Street
St Andrews, Fife
KY16 9AA Scotland

We rarely went to an Indian restaurant so when we learned that there was an Indian restaurant in St. Andrews, we decided to try it.

We went to Maisha restaurant for dinner. Maisha was an authentic Indian and Seafood restaurant located along College Street in St. Andrews.

Maisha had quite a lot on the menu, so it was not at all easy to choose what to order.

We eventually ordered shrimps for starters. Hub ordered chicken curry and I ordered royal chicken for the main course. With that, we had a red wine from Chile, a Concha y Toro red wine, a Casillero del Diablo 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon.

I did not expect my order to be that much. It was almost good for two persons and it was really spicy too.

The food was fine and as much as I liked spicy food, the royal chicken was just too spicy for me.

Hub was able to finish his food but I was not able to finish the royal chicken.

In effect, I did not order dessert anymore.

For one thing, I already had a big serving of banana split ice cream at around 3:44 p.m. after we finished playing golf.
